Carol Simpson presented with Life Membership to Oakwood

At our christmas party in December, Carol Simpson was presented with Life Membership to Oakwood.

Carol Simpson has been involved with Oakwood Riding School in one way or another, for most of its 51 years of operation. Initially as a pupil and later as an agistee, member and very active participant on the voluntary committee.

Carol has made the decision to no longer compete but still has a horse "Angel" at Oakwood and is often seen bustling around the complex. Carol has always been a very pro-active member, always coming up with new ideas for fund raising or social activities.

Carol is the first to say that being a volunteer is so rewarding and that you get back much more than you give., and in that capacity Carol is always helping out at Oakwood or other dressage clubs. Congratulations to you Carol.

Oakwood Riding School has had its 50th birthday this year!

Since re-locating from Narre Warren to Clyde North, Oakwood staff has been working tirelessly to put Oakwood well and truly on the equestrian map.

Oakwood is now a premier agistment facility where all clients are grateful for the care and attention given to their horses.

Oakwood is THE place to learn to ride on well trained, quiet horses with qualified staff. For those that have their own horses, we offer advice, lessons and training if required.

In the past year alone Oakwood has conducted 3 internal competitions – open to all clients and members – 4 holiday programmes, EFA coaching workshops, bi-monthly social evenings, a huge Christmas Bar-B-Q where the Oakwood Young Rider Quadrille gave demonstrations and the Oakwood 50th Birthday Party at Clover Cottage!

For photos from the 50th birthday party see the Gallery page.

“The atmosphere at Oakwood is friendly and relaxed, and everyone helps each other-there is a family feel here” Leanna Bray (O.R.S Committee).

Oakwood prides itself on this sort of feed back and will continue to offer quality service and advice now and in the future.
